Client: Southern Graphic Systems (SGS), founded in 1946, operates from headquarters in Louisville, KY with locations throughout North America, Europe and Asia. SGS provides innovative solutions to enhance brand identity and improve their clients "Speed-to-Market" demands. Their services include package design, prepress, imaging and management of the entire brand development and execution cycle. SGS works with many of the world's preeminent consumer product goods companies and retail merchants, as well as the manufacturers and printers that support them. Challenge: SGS was operating outdated applications on an IBM AS/400. These applications included centralized accounting as well as centralized purchasing. SGS remote sites throughout the United States were also operating on independent order processing systems each with their own pricing systems. The goal for SGS senior management was to establish a standard reporting entity with, standardized production systems as well as standard order entry and pricing systems throughout all the sites. Solution: Utilizing expert consulting services from Streamline Systems, SGS has implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX in a phased approach. Phase One was the implementation of corporate financial applications. SGS also succeeded in the incorporation of purchase requisitions from their remote sites to a centralized purchasing system during the first phase. The second phase had SGS implementing a standardized production across all their remote facilities as well as implementing standardized order processing with corporate wide trade agreements at these sites. |
